ABOUT/CONTACT

Manabu Inada, also known as Gaku, was one of the founding members of MTV's first interactive division. Later, he joined MTV's International division and served as an Executive Producer and Creative Director for the online identity of MTVJAPAN.COM. His designs and short films have been showcased at the Art Directors Club New York and MoMA PS1 Exhibition.

In 2001, Inada established his creative studio, INADA STUDIO, in New York City.

Gaku is a Brooklyn-based artist, printmaker, and documentary filmmaker who strives to capture city life's rhythms, bustle, and beauty through his work across mediums.
His world is often imbued with a subtle sense of the imaginary as he seamlessly integrates surreal aspects into depictions of our reality, creating a juxtaposition that has, over time, become his characteristic style. In addition to highlighting the musicality of urban life, Inada frequently manipulates perspective by inverting images to express a parallel reality. His influence is a fluid blend of late ‘80s surf and skate culture, industrial design, Bauhaus, Russian Constructivism, jazz, films like Taxi Driver and Blade Runner, New York architecture, and more. Inada’s work has been shown at MoMA PS1 and elsewhere.
