The Engineered Garments Spring/Summer 2022 collection draws significant inspiration from music trends, especially the world music and ethnic sounds of the 1980s. It also draws on artistic and cultural movements linked to fashion brands like Banana Republic, which are known for their safari and exploration themes.
In this collection, I aimed to integrate African motifs while reflecting on the history of textiles produced in New York during the late 1930s and 1940s, a particularly fascinating period, all presented in a contemporary style.
I intentionally designed a blurred and uneven print to create an American vintage atmosphere.
