GAKU x ENGINEERED GARMENTS FW2020: Art Print Art Collaborations, Fall Winter 2020
In late winter 2019, Daiki Suzuki approached me to create artwork for Engineered Garments's Fall/Winter 2020 collection. During our discussions, we focused on jazz and Ivy fashion, the collection's main themes. The Jazz scene of the 1950s and 1960s, particularly music released by labels like Blue Note and Verve, greatly influenced me, not only in the realm of music but also in the design of record albums.
In addition to designing printed artwork for clothing, I developed embroidery patterns, created silkscreen posters that served as key visuals for promotions, and directed and produced brand films. This project allowed me to take a mixed-media approach to creative work.
