For the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, Engineered Garments designer Daiki collaborated with Gaku to graphically express the French style, which was the theme of this season's collection. The main inspiration was the Frenchman Boris Vian, active in the 1940s and 1950s as a musician, critic, poet, and novelist. The production process involved selecting quotes from Vian that fit the theme and then expanding the visual imagery. Instead of describing the artwork, the aim was to create a slightly abstract expression. The color French blue was chosen to evoke French work and military uniforms.

"C’est les jeunes qui se souviennent. Les vieux ils oublient tout " -It's the young who remember, the old forget everything.

The swirl motif idea was inspired by Boris Vian's profile photo, in which he is wearing a large swirl brooch.

The posters were made using the artwork from the printed t-shirt.

“Il ne sert à rien de vivre normalement, la normalité n’existe pas" -There's no use living normally; normality doesn't exist.

“Je ne veux pas gagner ma vie, je l’ai" -I don't want to earn my life; I own it.
