Ivy Reimagined: A Day on the Long Island Campus.
For the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, Manabu “Gaku” Inada and Engineered Garments created a unique bandana that breathes modern life into classic Ivy League aesthetics.
The design captures a nostalgic day at a fictional university on New York’s Long Island, adorned with novelty icons inspired by Chipp's archival necktie patterns. This storytelling extends to the "Type Bandana," inspired by vintage wall pennants found in university Co-Op stores, blending heritage charm with a contemporary edge.

Satirical Scripts and Collegiate Humor.
The collection’s graphic identity draws from the irreverent world of mid-century college humor magazines. Slogans like "Absurdist" and "Satirical" pay homage to the legacy of The Harvard Lampoon, The Brown Jug, and The Yale Record, while channeling the rebellious energy of an 80s-era Thrasher magazine. By merging the Ivy League’s intellectual wit with the raw grit of skate culture, Gaku creates a visual language that is both nostalgic and avant-garde.
