The title, LA FIN DES ILLUSIONS, echoes the text art Gaku developed for the collection’s art-print T-shirts, weaving a thread of continuity between the garments and the film. The final day’s shoot was a delicate balance of grit and caution, with only a single day to prepare the storyboard, Gaku captured two skater models navigating the streets of LIC.
Because the garments were one-of-a-kind samples destined for a trade show in Japan the following day, the shoot pivoted from aggressive technicality to a fluid, effortless cruising style. This shift ultimately defined the film’s atmospheric tone—capturing a sense of relaxed urban movement while preserving the integrity of the collection.
