Brooklyn-based artist Manabu Gaku Inada collaborated with Daiki Suzuki, the head designer of Engineered Garments, to create textile artworks for their Fall Winter 2023 collection. The artworks draw inspiration from the classic American outdoor style, known as the "Heavy Duty Ivy Style" in Japan during the 1970s. They pay tribute to American heritage brands like Woolrich, LL Bean, and Lake Land, attempting to revisit the origins and creating a unique style.
Gaku and Daiki had extensive discussions to develop these artworks. Gaku used a mix of media, such as pencil, sumi ink, photography, and digital collage, to achieve the pattern's handcrafted feeling. These artworks have been used in the Brand film to showcase the consistency of the collection theme.
